Man Arrested on Firearm Charge

Acting Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Ricky Maxwell announces the following arrest in Savannah, Georgia:

On Tuesday, December 17, 2013, Charles Johnson, aka “Chuckie," age 26, of Savannah, Georgia, was arrested during the evening hours without incident by FBI agents with the invaluable assistance of the Savannah Chatham County Police Department’s SWAT team.

On August 15, 2013, a federal arrest warrant was obtained via federal criminal complaint filed at Savannah, Georgia, charging Johnson with violation of Title 18 USC 922 (g) (1), possession of a firearm by a felon. 

Johnson was also being sought for questioning in connection with the below seven Savannah area armed bank robberies:

Johnson will have an initial appearance in front of a U.S. magistrate judge today in Savannah, Georgia.

The public should be reminded that the above are merely allegations, and all persons are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
