FBI Atlanta to Provide Active Shooter Training to State Law Enforcement Officers, Fire, EMS, and Educators

ATLANTA—The FBI’s Atlanta Office, in conjunction with the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University’s Center of Operational Medicine, will host a two-day conference at the Center’s Auditoria Center in Augusta, Georgia, on October 24-25, 2013, to discuss best practices and services available during an active shooter response. A large attendance of the area’s sworn law enforcement officers, fire, emergency medical services (EMS), school resource officers, educators, and school administrators are expected.

Members of the media are invited to attend and film portions of those presentations occurring on day two (Friday, October 25, 2013), which will include Media Considerations during a Critical Incident, Past Case Studies, and Explosives Considerations. Interviews of attending law enforcement/fire/EMS executive staff can be coordinated as well.
