Seeking Information on Armed Bank Robbery

ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge Brian D. Lamkin, FBI Atlanta, in conjunction with the Gwinnett County Police Department, request assistance from the public in identifying and locating the person responsible for today’s armed robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 5525 Peachtree Parkway, Norcross, Georgia.
On Thursday, June 23, 2011, at approximately 11:01 a.m., a lone black male entered the Wells Fargo Bank, 5525 Peachtree Parkway, Norcross, Georgia and, while displaying a semi auto handgun, demanded money from a bank employee at the teller counter.
Bank employees, complying with the demands of the robber, provided the robber with an undisclosed amount of money. The robber then, for reasons unknown, began firing toward the teller counter, striking a bank employee in the arm.
The robber then departed the bank and was observed departing the area in a vehicle, description of which is still being determined.
The bank employee is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local area hospital.
The robber is described as a black male, light complexion, early 20’s to early 30’s in age, slender build, wearing a black dread type wig possibly with a hat, and brandishing a small caliber semi automatic handgun.
This individual is believed to also be responsible for last Monday’s June 13, 2011 robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank on Centerville Highway, Snellville, Georgia.
Wells Fargo has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the capture/conviction of this individual.
