Rome College Student Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges

ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge Brian D. Lamkin, FBI Atlanta, announces on behalf of the Northwest Georgia Crimes Against Children Task Force, the following arrest at Chickamauga, Georgia on August 16, 2010:

Ian Davidson Kennedy, age 22, of Rome, Georgia, was arrested without incident after allegedly traveling to Chickamauga, in an effort to have sex with a “minor child.” Kennedy, a student at Berry College in Rome, Georgia had come to the attention of undercover law enforcement agents during online conversations over the Internet.

Kennedy is currently facing state of Georgia charges of obstruction, computer pornography and sexual exploitation of a child, and aggravated child molestation (criminal attempt).

The public should be reminded that the above are mere allegations and that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
