Roswell Man Arrested for Attempted Sex with a Minor

ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge Brian D. Lamkin announces, on behalf of the Northwest Georgia Crimes Against Children Task Force, the following arrest at Ringgold, Georgia, which occurred on Monday, July 5, 2010.

Richard Williams, age 47, of Roswell, Georgia, was arrested without incident after allegedly traveling to Ringgold, Georgia in an effort to have sex with a “minor child.” Williams, a former teacher at Alpharetta High School, had come to the attention of undercover law enforcement agents during online conversations over the Internet.

Williams is currently incarcerated in the Catoosa County Jail on state charges of attempted aggravated assault and computer pornography.

The public should be reminded that the above are mere allegations and that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
