Madison County Elementary School Teacher Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

ATLANTA—Acting Special Agent in Charge Kenneth L. Moore, FBI Atlanta, in conjunction with Director Vernon Keenan, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and Sheriff Kip C. Thomas, Madison County Sheriff’s Department, announces the following:
On Thursday, March 25, 2010, search warrants were executed at the residence of Barry Bailey, age 46, of Hull, Georgia. Bailey, a physical education teacher at Ila Elementary School, in Ila (Madison County), Georgia, was taken into custody on state charges related to the possession and distribution of child pornography. This investigation was initiated when Bailey began “chatting” online with undercover law enforcement agents/officers detailed to an FBI Crimes Against Children initiative.
Bailey is currently being held at the Madison County Detention Center.
