Robbery of BBVA Compass Bank Branch in Albuquerque

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are looking for a man who robbed BBVA Compass Bank branch located at 3500 Candelaria NE on Monday, June 9, 2014.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s, approximately 5’5” to 5’7” tall, 150 to 160 pounds, with a medium build.

He wore a gray hoodie, black pants, black sneakers, a black bandana, and a black baseball cap with a possible Albuquerque Dukes logo on it.

Witnesses say the suspect walked into the bank at approximately 11:50 a.m. and verbally demanded money from a teller.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who left the bank.

The suspect was seen walking south on Wellesley and then west on Matthew Avenue. He may have then gotten into a vehicle.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call the FBI at (505) 889-1300.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
