The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are looking for an armed man who apparently wore a long, black wig and used a Trick or Treat bag when he robbed a Bank of America branch in northwest Albuquerque on Friday, October 3.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Native American male, approximately 35 years old, about 5’10” tall, and weighing about 180 pounds. He appeared to have a short, dark goatee.

He wore a black baseball cap with an unknown dark logo on the left front, sunglasses, a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and black and white sneakers. He also wore what appeared to be a long, black wig.

Witnesses say the suspect entered the bank located at 1704 Highway 528 NW (near Coors Blvd NW) at approximately 5:02 p.m.

He gave a teller a note demanding money and partially displayed a small black and silver handgun in his waistband.

The suspect placed on the teller counter a small black canvas bag that had the words Trick or Treat in purple and orange.

The teller put an undisclosed amount of money in the bag, which the suspect took with him as he left the bank.

The suspect was seen walking west behind a Hooters restaurant and Five Guys eatery in a nearby strip mall and then into a Lowe’s parking lot. 

The suspect may have gotten into a dark blue or green newer model Camaro that left the parking lot at a high rate of speed.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a bank robber.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
