Arrest Made in Robbery of Bank of America Branch in Albuquerque

Randy Lee Gallahan, 54, of Albuquerque, has been arrested in connection with the robbery of Bank of America branch at 6603 4th St. NW in Albuquerque on Saturday, May 3, 2014.

The FBI, with the assistance of the Albuquerque Police Department, arrested Gallahan in Albuquerque at approximately 3:10 p.m. on Saturday.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the investigation.

Gallahan is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Monday.

Witnesses said a man entered the bank at approximately 9:10 a.m. and verbally demanded money from a teller.

The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The FBI and APD later responded to a report of another possible bank robbery at Wells Fargo bank branch at 156 Juan Tabo Blvd. in Albuquerque.

Witnesses said a man wearing a mask entered the bank at approximately 10:10 a.m. but left without demanding money.

Whether the incidents are related remains under investigation.

The public is reminded that all persons are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
