Albuquerque Bank Hit by Armed Robber

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are looking for a man who used a handgun to rob a BBVA Compass bank branch at 1201 San Pedro Dr. NE in Albuquerque on Friday, June 13, 2014.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s or 30s, approximately 6 feet tall, and weighing about 170 pounds, with a medium build.

He wore a black and white bandana on his face, a black hoodie, and blue jeans.

Witnesses say the suspect walked into the bank at approximately 9:18 a.m. and displayed a handgun. He demanded money from a teller.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who left the bank.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense, and the penalty increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.
