Robbery of Wells Fargo Bank Branch in Bernalillo

The FBI and Town of Bernalillo Police Department are looking for a man who robbed a Wells Fargo branch at 239 Highway 550 in Bernalillo on February 19, 2013.

The suspect is described as a Native American male, late 20s to early 30s in age, about 5’6” tall, with a stocky build and close-cropped hair.

He also had dark tattoos on his neck.

The suspect wore a blue pullover shirt with a zipper that went halfway down the front and dark blue jeans.

Witnesses say the man walked into the bank at approximately 11:53 a.m. and handed a teller a note that demanded money.

The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense, and the penalty increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
