A woman is in FBI custody in connection with two bank robberies committed Thursday.

The robberies occurred at Sandia Laboratory Credit Union, 3707 Juan Tabo Blvd NE, and First Community Bank, 3620 Juan Tabo Blvd NE. Both are near Comanche Road NE.

The Sandia Laboratory Credit Union was robbed at about 1 p.m. The other bank was robbed about 20 minutes later.

Witnesses say a woman entered the banks and told tellers she had a gun. She left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Albuquerque police located Laura Galloway Brooks, 27, in a car in the parking lot of another nearby bank. Officers followed her to Juan Tabo Boulevard and Phoenix Avenue NE, where she was apprehended.

Nobody was injured in the robberies.

Brooks is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Friday.
