Two Albuquerque Banks Robbed

A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Thursday morning’s robbery of Bank of the West, 5401 Gibson Boulevard Southeast.
Edward Bowlin is scheduled to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court on Friday.
The FBI and Albuquerque Police are still investigating a second bank robbery that occurred less than an hour after this one.
Witnesses say a white male, about 5’11” tall and weighing about 180 pounds, showed a demand note to a teller at First Community Bank, 1418 Carlisle Boulevard Northeast, at about 9:50 a.m.
The suspect, described as in his 50s, wore a mustache, dark glasses and a white shirt and baseball-style cap. His hair color is described as gray with brown.
He left with an undisclosed amount of money.
Authorities are looking for a silver Chevrolet Cavalier in connection with the second robbery.
Albuquerque Police arrested Bowlin about 10 a.m.
The Bank of the West robbery occurred at about 9:05 a.m. It is not known at this time if the two robberies are related. Nobody was hurt.
A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the subjects.
