Seeking Information on Bank Robbery in Las Cruces

The FBI and Las Cruces Police are looking for man who robbed the Wells Fargo bank at 2400 N. Main St. on Wednesday morning.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-50s with a short white beard.

He wore a gray long-sleeve New Mexico State Aggies shirt, beige pants, a tan baseball-style cap with an oval decal on the front, and sunglasses.

The suspect has a slight to medium build, is about 5’6” to 5’7” tall, and weighs about 125-130 pounds.

Witnesses say the robber entered the bank at about 9:07 a.m. and handed the teller a note that demanded money.

He left with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen heading southbound on foot.

Nobody was injured.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and the penalty increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.

The FBI may pay a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
