Rio Rancho Bank Robber Arrested

Steve L. Bernardoni, 48, of Rio Rancho, has been arrested in connection with the robbery Friday of Bank of Albuquerque, 3901 Southern Blvd. SE.
Bernardoni is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Monday.
Witnesses say a masked man entered the bank shortly after 9 a.m. and jumped over the counter.
He showed a weapon and demanded money from the tellers.
The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
Rio Rancho Police apprehended the suspect about a block away from the bank.
