InfraGard Data Protection Conference in February

How can New Mexico companies protect themselves from insiders stealing their intellectual property and committing cyber crimes?

InfraGard New Mexico, an information-sharing partnership between the FBI and the private sector, will offer a one-day conference in Albuquerque to give businesses and other organizations tips on preventing and detecting employee fraud, IT sabotage, and other threats.

The February 25 event, “Data Protection and Insider Cyber Crime,” will be held at the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown, 2600 Louisiana Boulevard NE. It is open to the public.

Registration and information are available at http://nminfraconf.org. The deadline to register is February 15.

Speakers include:

Carol K.O. Lee, Special Agent in Charge, FBI Albuquerque Division.

Richard Hammer, senior network/system administrator and organizational computer security representative, Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Randy Trzeciak, program manager at the Insider Threat Center at Carnegie Mellon University's CERT/Software Engineering Institute.

Greg Conrad, manager of application infrastructure and analytics, Sandia National Laboratories.

Sheldon Muir, security-focused consulting systems engineer, Cisco Systems.

The conference starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.

InfraGard is an association of businesses, academic institutions, state and local law enforcement agencies, and other participants dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the United States.
