Troy Resident Convicted of Producing Child Pornography
Defendant Convicted of Four Counts of Producing Child Pornography

ALBANY, NY—United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian and Clifford C. Holly, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Albany Division, announced the conviction, after a three-day jury trial, of Ronald Rafferty, age 63, of Troy, New York, on four counts of producing child pornography, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2251(a), and one count of possessing child pornography, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252A(a)(5)(B). With respect to the production offenses, Rafferty faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 30 years on each count, with a mandatory minimum of 15 years of imprisonment on each count. With respect to the possession offense, Rafferty faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years. Each count of conviction carries a fine of up to $250,000.00.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Troy Police Department, and the Rensselaer County Probation Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Rick Belliss.
