The
FBI Cyber Program uses a centrally-coordinated strategy
to support FBI priorities across program lines, assisting
crucial counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and criminal
investigations whenever aggressive technical investigative
assistance is required. The Cyber Program also targets
major criminal violators with a cyber nexus.

The
Endangered Child Alert Program, launched in 2/04,
uses national and international media exposure of unknown
adults featured in child pornography; 37 children identified
and saved, 12 subjects identified (8 in custody)

11/03
launched Operation "Peer Pressure"
targeting persons who use Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks
to collect and distribute child pornography; conducted
166 online sessions in which undercover FBI Agents download
child pornography from offender's computers. Results
include: 360 search warrants; 91 indictments; 88 Arrests;
55 convictions. Many subjects with prior criminal histories
identified (including ten registered sex offenders);
over 20 persons under the age of 21 identified as engaging
in these activities. These cases have charged not only
offenses related to the possession and distribution
of child pornography, but also sexual abuse of children.

In
2003, the FBI began a nationwide initiative to investigate
child sexual abuse in eGroups; over 180 searches
executed, 162 subjects were indicted, 89 subjects were
arrested, and over 100 convictions
Internet
Crime Complaint Center (IC3)
-
Received
over 700,000 consumer complaints; more than 450,000
referred to law enforcement for investigation. These
referrals include an accumulated loss in excess of $450
million.

Currently
receiving over 22,000 complaints a month, the one millionth
consumer complaint is expected to be processed in calendar
year 2007.

The
IC3 FBI has referred over 4,500 significant identified
cases, with an accumulative loss of $213 million to
law enforcement, resulting in over 885 known investigations
which include: 155 Search warrants issued; 56 Arrest
warrants issued; 479 Arrests; 173 Indictments; 119 Convictions

National
initiatives include: Operation Cyber Loss, Operation
E-Con; Operation Cyber Sweep and Operation Web Snare.
A combined total for these initiatives resulted in:
400+ Investigations; 263 Indictments; 1.1 Million Victims;
293 Search/Seizure Warrants; $604 Million in losses;

Regional
Computer Forensics Laboratory (RCFL)

Over
the past five years, nearly fourteen RCFLs have opened
to assist nearly 4,000 law enforcement agencies across
17 states with examination of digital evidence in support
of a variety of criminal investigations.

Since
2002, the program has received 6,426 service requests;
trained 6,843 law enforcement personnel; and conducted
4,998 examinations.
