In July, the FBI Little Rock Evidence Response Team (ERT) visited Camp Aldersgate—a nonprofit camp with programs for children with medical, physical, and developmental challenges—and taught campers how to be FBI investigators. The ERT deputized 60 children and together they investigated the disappearance of several items that were “stolen” the night before. The deputies were divided into teams and worked the investigation from beginning to end—learning how to lift fingerprints, photograph a crime scene, link fingerprints to suspects, and create wanted posters. At the end of the day, all subjects were apprehended without incident—as pictured above—and, after being interrogated by the children, confessed where they hid the stolen items.
