The Tampa Division honors The Rich Kids Project for its work with at-risk youth.

The Rich Kids Project is a non-profit organization founded by former NBA player Chris Richard. As a high school student, Mr. Richard was the recipient of the 2003 Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Basketball award. At the collegiate level, he was a key member of the 2005 and 2006 University of Florida championship basketball teams. He was the 41st overall pick of the 2007 NBA draft. Following multiple stints overseas, Mr. Richard felt compelled to use his global experience and community influence to establish The Rich Kids Project in 2010.

The vision of The Rich Kids Project is guided by integrity, motivation, respect, and trust to empower at-risk and underprivileged youth to grow into accountable, responsible, and contributing members of society. The group offers programs and services developed to support participants’ desire to excel and impart an awareness of social responsibility. Their mission is to provide underprivileged youth with all of the intangibles needed to succeed through sports, culture, the arts, education, and community projects.

Mr. Richard was recently the keynote speaker for the FBI Tampa Division’s Junior Special Agent Academy. He gave a presentation on making the right choices today to ensure a brighter future tomorrow.
