The Kansas City Division honors the University of Missouri Kansas City for its work establishing the No Violence Alliance.

The No Violence Alliance is a partnership between University of Missouri Kansas City and area law enforcement. The university served as the architect, conceptualizing and designing the No Violence Alliance based upon similar models from the Boston and Philadelphia Police Departments.

The No Violence Alliance was designed to combat the rise of violent crime in the greater Kansas City area. The organization’s innovative strategy hinges on focused deterrence, incorporating a no violence message by partnering with law enforcement, service providers, and community figures.

The University of Missouri Kansas City has provided valuable tools and research capabilities to help law enforcement reduce crime and gang activity. This effort has significantly advanced existing partnerships between federal and local law enforcement agencies.
