
Forensic Scientist / Application Scientist

Qualifications include the following:
- BS in forensic science, chemical or biological sciences, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
- At least five years' work experience in a forensic laboratory performing forensic analysis
- Memberships in forensic associations, certifications, and specialized training in the area of fingerprint examination is preferred
- Ability to understand the principles and technology related to latent fingerprint development and questioned document examination research and evaluate spectroscopic and imaging methods and techniques
- Ability to write technical papers for peer-reviewed publication
- Ability to coordinate and develop working relationships with law enforcement agencies
Responsibilities include the following:
- Managing, directing, supervising, and coordinating all activities within the Forensic Science Division of a high-technology analytical instrument company
- Developing and overseeing applications of hyperspectral imaging technology
- Testing latent fingerprint evidence submitted by law enforcement agencies
- Testifying in legal proceedings when necessary
- Maintaining current awareness involving analytical technology procedures and legal decisions involving latent fingerprint evidence and digital technology
- Providing technical support to experienced sales staff
- Some travel required
