Forensic DNA Analyst / LIMS Assistant Administrator

This position is part of the technical service team that focuses on designing, implementing, supporting, and training of the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
Qualifications include the following:
- At least one year's laboratory experience using DNA techniques
- Experience with relational database applications
- Familiar with LIMS, SQL, VB
- Knowledge of ABI 310, 377, and 3100 genetic sequencers desired
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to laboratory staff
Responsibilities include the following:
- Performing DNA-profiling procedures on criminal casework samples
- Testifying in court as needed
- Conducting DNA purification, PCR amplification, fluorescent DNA analysis, and other laboratory skills and techniques
- Providing advance telephone and e-mail support to the LIMS Administrator and LIMS users
- Creating and performing ad hoc queries and sample reports
- Testing and validating the system
- Documenting analysis, support, and system configurations
