Qualifications include the following:
- BS in a related science with at least one year's experience in fingerprint identification
- Additional work experience in fingerprint identification may substitute for the required degree
- IAI certification is desirable
Responsibilities include the following:
- Comparing and evaluating latent fingerprints
- Processing physical evidence for latent fingerprints
- Testifying in court about fingerprint identification
- Using the Automated Fingerprint Identification System
An extensive background investigation, drug screening, and polygraph will be conducted on all applicants.
