Forensic Specialist
— Salary: Commensurate with qualifications

Qualifications include the following:

  • MS in forensic science or at least five years' experience in the forensic DNA market or laboratory with a comprehensive understanding and experience in the operation of a forensic DNA laboratory
  • Working knowledge of how forensic information, with an emphasis on DNA/STR data, is developed and used
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of how DNA information (databasing, casework, and paternity) is used, especially to support court cases
  • Working knowledge of or experience with the forensic market
  • Proactive self-starter that can identify needs and develop and implement action plans to accomplish a goal on time using cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills (written, telephone, and presentation)
  • Computer skills to support overall communication responsibilities as well as understanding forensic data analysis software
  • Commercial experience or an MBA is desired

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Working closely with the global field and internal resources (TAS's, telephonic technical support, FSE, and sales) to respond to and resolve customer needs and issues
  • Interfacing with all parts of the company that provide components to the HID whole product solution
  • Providing guidance and support as the HID Customer Advocate on product and component specifications, levels of support, validation, and how the company can better serve the HID market's needs to ensure customer success
  • Interfacing with HID research and development to ensure that the customers' expectations and needs are taken into consideration when developing new product specifications, existing product enhancements, or validation support
  • Ensuring that all needs of the customer relative to new product specifications, validation support, troubleshooting, and service/support are met quickly
  • Becoming a key resource within the forensic group to ensure customer success
