You can contribute to the National Crime Prevention and Privacy Compact Council process.  Do you have an idea or suggestion regarding the authorized exchange of criminal history record information for noncriminal justice purposes or the National Crime Prevention and Privacy Compact Council process?

Topic suggestions for future Compact Council Committees may be submitted at any time.  Topics presented at a committee meeting are forwarded to the subsequent Council meeting.  Suggestions should be submitted in writing and should include: a clear statement of the request; how it is handled now or a description of the problem; suggested change/solution; scenario/example; benefit to the noncriminal justice community; impact on local, state, or federal noncriminal justice agencies; importance; and contact person.

Here’s how to submit your ideas:

1. State or local noncriminal justice agency officials may submit proposals to their State Compact Officer or to the FBI Compact Officer in those states who have not yet ratified the Compact. Federal agency officials may submit directly to the FBI Compact Officer.

2. State identification bureau chiefs may submit topic proposals to the State Compact Officer or directly to the FBI Compact Officer.

3. Professional organization heads may submit topic proposals directly to the FBI Compact Officer.

All proposals will be forwarded to the FBI Compact Officer for coordination with the Council/Committee Chairman for consideration as the meeting agendas are finalized.

Please fill out a topic suggestion form and hit the “Submit” button at the bottom of the form, which will then be electronically sent to the FBI’s Compact Council Office. Additional questions can be directed to compactoffice@leo.gov.
